Primarily, people suffer with more frequent colds and flu during the cooler seasons because switching on the home heating system changes the indoor environment. Heated air (particularly from forced-air furnaces, and especially during the night) can dry out the mucous membranes of nasal passages. Once this moisture barrier is dehydrated, the body’s natural, first line of defense against airborne pathogens is compromised. At this point, bacteria and viruses can easily enter the bloodstream (their main entrances are the eyes, nose and mouth).
The colder weather is only indirectly responsible for these ailments. Overeating before bedtime also contributes to dry nasal passages; leading to colds and flu. One common early symptom is a scratchy throat in the morning. When used with the first symptom, the following protocol has shown excellent results:
Start with a glass of tepid water and mix 1 or 2 drops of PEPPERMINT OIL, or simply lick one or two drops of PEPPERMINT OIL from the back of the hand. Breathe deeply several times with open mouth. The bacteriostatic and spasmolytic action of the PEPPERMINT OIL is quickly effective and should be repeated at short intervals.
Immediately begin the recommended amount of ABB No. 12 and HYDRASTIS NASAL SPRAY No. 21.
One dose of MARCOZYMES™
For sore throat, take ECHINACEA TABLETS No. 1
As an immune booster, LYMPHONEST No. 10
The best results with this protocol are achieved by immediate use at the onset of cold or flu symptoms. Surprisingly, the symptoms can disappear within two to six hours. Even in advanced stages, major improvement can occur within two to three days.
For reliable cold and flu prevention, morning and night use of PEPPERMINT OIL and HYDRASTIS NASAL SPRAY No. 21 is recommended (keep spray next to your toothbrush as a reminder). During prevention and treatment periods, eat lightly, avoid sweets, cold drinks and dairy products. Reduce exercise.
is an excellent preventive remedy during the colder seasons due to its bacteriostatic properties and its ablity to promote bronchial tree relaxation for easier breathing. When treating acute cold or flu symptoms, the above mentioned therapy has been proven to render more reliable results than any other treatment.
So the saying, "Flu normally takes seven days without medicine and one week with medicine" is outdated and refers to an extinquished paradigm.
